Culvita Rose Soil

Culvita Rose Soil is specially formulated as an additive for planting holes for garden, patio, and potted roses.

Suitable for:

Culvita Rose Soil can be used for all types of roses. Since roses are woody plants, they require soil that is slightly fungus-dominant. A soil rich in beneficial fungi makes nutrients more accessible for rose plants and helps reduce their susceptibility to diseases. This rose soil contains organically bound nutrients that do not leach away and remain available to the rose throughout the season.

Not suitable for:

There are no restrictions on the use of Culvita Rose Soil.

Properties:

Culvita Rose Soil is a blend of garden peat, sphagnum peat, clay, and high-quality humus compost. It includes an organic base fertilizer and lime, along with RhizoPlus—a mix of mycorrhizae and other rhizosphere bacteria and fungi. The addition of RhizoPlus enhances nutrient and water absorption and promotes natural soil balance.

Application

Planting Shrub Roses in the Garden

• One bag of Culvita Rose Soil is sufficient for five rose bushes.
• Dig a spacious planting hole approximately the size of a 10-liter bucket.
• If the roses are delivered bare-root, soak their roots in a bucket of water for two hours before planting.
• Place the rose in the hole and fill it with Culvita Rose Soil.
• Shake the plant slightly while filling to ensure good contact between the roots and soil particles.
• Water generously, but avoid standing water in the planting hole.
• If necessary, fill the remaining space with the original soil.
• Regular watering is essential during the first year, as roots need time to establish and connect to groundwater.

A portion of the roots, called feeding roots, settles in the topsoil and absorbs nutrients that are naturally released. Be careful not to damage these roots when hoeing or raking around the plants.

Planting Patio and Potted Roses

• Patio and potted roses are usually sold in containers.
• Moisten the root ball well and carefully remove the plant from its pot.
• If repotting into a larger pot or planter, ensure it is clean.
• If using an unglazed pot, soak it in water before use.
• Place a few pot shards over the drainage hole if necessary.
• For improved drainage, it is recommended to add a layer of Culvita Hydro Granules at the bottom.
• Fill the new pot or planter with Culvita Rose Soil and place the rose inside without damaging the roots.
• Water generously, but avoid standing water.
• Potted roses require regular watering during the growing and blooming season.
